IT’S BEEN A WHILE since we opened up a group discussion here at the Department of Salad, and it appears we are very rusty at it. Why, I remember a day when they were called “open threads,” back when we started out, in 1897, but now they’re called “chats.” The world just spins on without you, man.
Anyway, I meant to send the invitation to chat to everyone by e-mail but that didn’t happen, because I write with a quill pen and take a horse and wagon to the post office once a week to get this newsletter out.

I've been thinking HARD about salad for breakfast. I want (need) to get more green vegetables in and I'd like an easy salad I can eat alongside scrambled eggs. I would appreciate any thoughts!
I've been bad this year about making salad, but I LOVE subscribing to your site, and using it as a reference site. For 2025, please more recipes for one or two people, as my Hubby is not really a salad lover and I need to make small batches. Thank you so much for this forum!
