Listen, I feel like you might have hacked into my grocery list to see what I buy most frequently (avocado, lime, garlic) in order to create this dressing. I’m not MAD about it, I can’t wait to try it!
My salads need these! I wish they knew how to dress themselves....I was roaming the Internet and fell on this and thought of you: https://whatcanadaate.lib.uoguelph.ca/files/show/7043. I showed my husband the photo of the box wedge and he said “go to the store right now” 😀 it won’t be tonight, but I will make it this week. Thanks for the good ideas!
How long does dressing with buttermilk keep? I know I should slather it on and eat it in two or three sittings but for those moments when I have a tiny bit more self restraint…?? Or when I want to double the recipe for future me?
I wouldn't keep it for more than 4 or 5 days--it's really the avocado that will start to deteriorate. Buttermilk lasts longer. I doubled this--a cup and a half is for amateurs! But I tend to make that amount as a typical batch.
“But you never ever want to use a vinaigrette. Do you?” No! When I saw this line I immediately flashed to my great-aunt’s house where “salad” was some iceberg leaves and a bottled vinaigrette. Those things bring out the worst in each other — the bland leading the bland! Meanwhile I hardly ever buy iceberg (which is to say I never buy it.) But these dressings make me think about giving it another shot. What about avocado that comes in a squeeze tube? Fresh ones that are ripe are hit or miss where I live.
My grandmother made an iceberg salad with oil and vinegar and tomato and onion and I LOVED it. I love iceberg, but I get why people do not! I am going to say definitely no on the tube avocado; you can use a fairly ripe one in this dressing, and remember if you get a ripe avocado at the grocer, you can put it directly in the fridge when you get home and it will stay about that ripe for a few days. Cheers!
My sixes are at sevens and my sevens ate nine! It's a whole thing
I hear you!
These dressings just make me smile! Thank you
I am so glad, Valerie--thank you for telling me!

Because they are three of the greatest ingredients of ALL TIME. Limes make me so happy! Glad to have you here, MaryAnne ❤️
I’m staring 👁️ intensely at the iceberg tower and trying to manifest it in my kitchen right now because I don’t have iceberg lettuce 😩

Oh I LOVE this!! Thank you Lonni!
As much as I love a wedge, this would also be amazeballs on Little Gems.
It would be good in any salad, I think! I hope I didn’t come across as suggesting the wedge was anything more than the vehicle of the moment.
I LOVE iceberg lettuce. It’s so underrated. Thank you!
I agree!!

Hahaha!! I love that! Wouldn't it be nice if we could press a button like the Jetsons? And it is my pleasure--I am so glad to have you here--Emily
Thanks for the hearty yippee-ki-yay, ____s, from the Avocado Lime Ranch, Emily! Happy Puppy Bowl and Superb Owl Day. <3
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Yes! So needed this! Thanks, Emily. Take care in these heavy times.
Thank you, and same to you, Beverly!
sounds (and looks) like what the doctor ordered!
I'm so glad, Susie--I should get my Doctor of Salad before I get arrested for practicing without a license
No when will notice amidst the chaos!
I have to file all of these! Wow!
One word. YUM!
😀 ❤️
This looks delicious! I am going to make it almost immediately before avocados, and indeed most produce, disappear from our lives.
GOOD THINKING! ❤️
